Guwahati : As a CSR initiative in line with the 'Skill India' mission of Government of India; which would also serve to propagate the AYUSH systems of health care; an MoU was inked between NRL and M/s. Santhigiri Ashram on 26th September, 2016 at Guwahati for setting up of a Skill Development Training Centre in the city. The MoU was signed by GM (Mktg. & BD) NRL, Mr. B. Ekka and Swami Padmaprakasha Jnana Thapaswi, Incharge of Santigiri Ashram, New Delhi and member of National Medical and Wellness Tourism Board, New Delhi.

The Centre will impart training to unemployed youth of the region on Ayurveda Panchakarma therapy. Panchakarma is a traditional Ayurvedic practice prevalent in South India, particularly Kerala, the demand for which is surging in India and abroad. Training of local youths in this skill would enhance their job prospects in view of the huge opportunities that it offers. 30 youths from the neighbourhood of the Refinery will be enrolled in the first batch of the 6-month program, which is expected to commence shortly. After completion of the program, the youths will be placed in Santhigiri Centres across the country.
