Siddha is a complete healthcare system- Pinarayi Vijayan
Siddha system, is a complete healthcare system which has the strength to alleviate the health problems of our society, said Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief minister of Kerala, inaugurating the State Representative's meeting of Siddha Medical Association of India at Press Club, Trivandrum. But the CM cautioned that the experts working in this field should be more vigilant to do research activities to ensure the reachability of this system to the whole world. There should be friendly mentality among various systems of medicine which we lack today. It is very much evident that all systems have their own virtue in alleviating the health problems of humanity. When modern medicine was very much influenced in today's world it caused many casualties to other ancient systems like Siddha and Ayurveda. But the government is determined to do a lot in this sector. Today the people of Kerala accepts Siddha system more, and is one of the mainstream system, the CM added. Also CM shared some of his experiences in the field.
The function was presided by Bishop Mar Mathew Arakkal. Swami Gururetnam Jnanathapaswi, Organizing Secretary, Santhigiri Ashram, Dr. Anitha Jacob, Director of Indian Systems of Medicine, Dr. V. B. Vijayakumar, Executive member, CCIM, Dr.K. Jaganathan, Dr. P. Hariharan, Vice Principals of Santhigiri Siddha Medical College, Dr. Nidhin E. Nair, Dr. Rohini took part. Dr. Ansari, Secretary of Organizing committee gave welcome speech and Dr. Abhil Mohan, State President gave the vote of thanks.
Stalwarts in this fields like Malayattoor Sukumaran Vaidiar, Dr. K. Gopakumar and Valiyarathala Sridharan Asan were honoured. 'Siddhavarmasaram' a book on Varma therapy was released by the CM in the function.
