Santhigiri Parampara Celebrates Poornakumbhamela on September 20 (Wednesday)
Hundreds of devotees from India and abroad will participate in the Annual Kumbha Mela in Santhigiri Ashram on Thursday 20 September, 2018 in commemoration of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru’s fulfilment of spiritual ascendancy through all spiritual planes. It is a festival of prayers and falls on the 4th of Kanni - ME (September) every year.
The highlight is a colourful procession by devotees carrying ornamental parasols and decorated kumbhas (ceremonial pots) filled with specially prepared teertham (holy water). Prayerful participation in twelve successive kumbham is effective for removing the Karma Doshas (karmic ailments) of the self and the family.
