Pothencode (Thiruvananthapuram): Food Minister G.R. Anil said that Santhigiri Fest will go down in history due to the importance of various topics discussed, various conferences held, and cultural festivals. The Minister was speaking while declaring open the third edition of Santhigiri Fest, which will be presented with many innovations after a gap of twelve years. ‘Santhigiri is the heart of the country and the state. This is a place where believers and non-believers alike can enter. Santhigiri which gives food and peace to those who come, is the peak of Shanti and the pride of the country. The Minister said that all religions give messages aimed at human welfare, but Santhigiri gives not only human welfare but also a message to spread human peace, friendship, and brotherhood more widely.

Many innovations have been prepared in the third edition of the Fest. This year’s Carnival is around the huge reservoir in the Research Zone of Santhigiri Ashram. The main attractions of the Fest City will be the colorful lighting, the Happiness Park, and the Water Fountain in the basin. Adjacent to the Ashram’s newly colour-painted entrance, there is a ‘Nakshatra Vanam’ and a Goshala for native cows. The 10,000-square-foot innovative amusement park will be the venue for entertainment. There are Exhibitions, Trade Fairs, a Robotic Animal Show showcasing advancement in science and technology, a Flower Show spread over 13,000 square feet, a varied Pet Show, an Aqua Show, a Ghost House that fills the passage with excitement, a Vismayam 3D show, entertainment programs for children, agricultural marketing fairs with forest, a. View Point with nature conservation message, health corner with Indian treatment systems and wellness center are ready.
Another attraction is the Vegetarian Food Fest full of flavors. The Food Fest will feature unique dishes of Kerala and mouth-watering North Indian delicacies. The Fest will also have stalls of various armed forces of central and state governments, public sector organizations, and media organizations. Along with the Fest, an Expo has also been arranged for children to enhance academic aptitude in arts and sports. The Expo has been organized in such a way as to introduce various career and higher education fields to the students and help them choose courses according to their skills and abilities. Inter-school competitions will be held in various categories like football, netball, music band, painting, quiz, photography, treasure hunt, and group dance for the students of around 300 schools in the district. Entry will be from 12 noon to 10 pm on holidays and from 3 pm to 10 pm on weekdays.
