Santhigiri Celebrations Are National Festivals – Ramesh Chennithala

Pothencode (Thiruvananthapuram) – Ramesh Chennithala remarked that the celebrations at Santhigiri Ashram are evolving into a national festival that unites people across caste and religious lines. He made these comments during the switch-on ceremony of the natural water fountain and the illumination at Santhigiri Fest, which featured a vibrant array of carnival spectacles. Chennithala emphasized that Santhigiri’s celebrations are playing a crucial role in spreading the messages of Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru to a global audience. He also commended Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapasvi for his efforts in disseminating the Guru’s teachings, noting that the sannyasins of Santhigiri Ashram have become a quiet yet impactful presence in public life across Kerala.

The event was presided over by Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapasvi, General Secretary of Santhigiri Ashram. Other notable attendees included Swami Jyothiprakash, Janani Kripa, G. Mohandas, Chairman of the Mohandas Group of Companies, Rani Mohandas, Director of the group, George Sebastian, General Secretary of ACTS, and political figures such as M. Balamurali, Treasurer of BJP Thiruvananthapuram District, and Vembayam Anilkumar, Secretary of Thiruvananthapuram DCC. Members of the local panchayat, including Gopakumar, Vembayam Manoj, and many others, were also present.

The evening continued with a dance performance organized by the Koliacode Gurukripa Dance School. Later today, Dr. Achyut Shankar S., Professor from Kerala University’s Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, will be the chief guest at the literature festival to be held at Happiness Garden at 4:30 pm. A special commemoration for the late film star Srividya will be conducted at Kalajnali by Santhigiri Vishwasamskriti Kalarangam at 6 pm. The main stage will feature a musical performance by playback singer Rajesh Vijay and his team, followed by a DJ night with DJ Abhi Fidak at 6:30 pm.
