Pothencode – Santhigiri Fest is not only a visual spectacle but also a hub of sports excitement. The third edition of the festival, packed with innovations and a wide range of events, began on October 2 at Santhigiri Ashram, Pothencode. Each day of the festival offers something new and engaging for attendees.
One of the key highlights is the “Under-12 Sevens Football Tournament”, organized by Santhigiri Vidyabhan and the Ultimate Group of Sports, which was inaugurated by P.K. Krishnadas, member of the BJP National Executive Committee. Teams from around 20 schools across the district are competing, and the tournament winners will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 23, in honor of football legend Pelé’s birthday.
Santhigiri Ashram is renowned worldwide as a major spiritual center, established by Navajyoti Sri Karunakara Guru, and serves as a sanctuary for those seeking peace and tranquility. In his address, P.K. Krishnadas noted that the Guru’s vision integrates spirituality, materiality, art, and literature and that the Santhigiri Fest embodies this vision by bringing these elements together in harmony.
The event was presided over by Swami Gurusavidh Jnana Thapasvi, with other distinguished speakers including Fr. Jose Eastham, Director of St. John’s Medical Village, M. Balamurali, BJP District Treasurer, Nadirsha N, Manager of Ultimate Group for Sports, and school principals Deepa S.S. and Smijesh S.M. Also in attendance were Pramod M.P., Assistant General Manager, and Umesh Babu, Education Department Manager.
