Thiruvananthapuram: Siddha System, which is the most  ancient  medical  system in India  is where  the  root  of Ayurveda  lies, said  Dr. V. Arunachalam, President, Central  Council of Indian  Medicine. He was  inagurating the  national level CME program for  teaching   faculties  in  Siddha  medicine   sponsored by  Ministry  of Ayush, Govt. of India at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College.
There   are  certain  special   characters  in  Siddha  which  the  world   has  to  be informed. The  reason why  Siddha  was  introduced in Santhigiri  Ashram  by its founder Shri Karunakara Guru is the  same  reason why Siddha  should  be going world  wide. When Ayurveda  spreads to the whole  world, the world  will look at the  source  of Ayurveda  where  Siddha  will be  the  base  for  the  same, said  Dr. Arunachalam,  the  first  ever  CCIM President from  the  Siddha  community.  The program was  presided over  by  Dr.  R.  Devarajan,  Principal,  Santhigiri   Siddha Medical  College. Swami  Vandanaroopan Jnanathapaswi,   Dr. P. Hariharan,   Dr. V.B.Vijayakumar, Dr. K. Jagannathan, Dr.P.Sathyarajeshwaran, Dr.M. Kanyakumari delivered speeches.
The CME program will be continued upto  26th   November in which  the  teaching faculties  from various  Siddha medical  colleges of the country including  National institute of Siddha, are participating. The resource persons from various  National Institutes   and    health    universities   are    conducting   various     theory     and demonstrative sessions. The challenging  features of global acceptance for Indian systems of medicines are to be discussed in the sessions. The CME souvenir will be  released on  Tuesday     by  Swami  Gururethnam  Jnanathapaswi,  Organizing Sectretary, Santhigiri Ashram.
