Good News for Siddha Community:
Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) is entering into a memorandum of understanding with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) and as well as Santhigiri Healthcare Research Organization (SHRO) for developing the research standards in Siddha system of medicine. The CCRS under AYUSH ministry, Govt. of India is the nodal agency on research in Siddha system and sphere-heading the development of Siddha through its institutes / units located in various regions of India to promote and collaborate with research organizations, Siddha is the very ancient system of medicine and originated from the Indian sub-continent. With more than 7000 recorded medicine formula, Siddha is the forerunner of modern nano particle medicine.

RGCB, a renowned research organization is known for its research activities in medical and plant biotechnology with its leading discoveries and findings. The various topics commonly shared between CCRS & RGCB on Siddha system of medicine, will bring synergy to develop the scientific standards of Siddha system.
Santhigiri Healthcare Research Organization (SHRO) of Santhigiri Ashram is the first private institution having wide interest in Siddha Education, production, practice & promotion located in all the regions of India. Being a Scientific Industrial Research Organization status, it is further developing its strength by involving with CCRS into research activities.

A memorandum of Understanding is signed by Prof. Dr. R. S. Ramaswamy, Director General, CCRS on 11th April 2017 with the respective administrators of RGCB and SHRO at RGCB, Thiruvananthapuram.
