      KARUNYAM, a National level Health Scheme is aimed at facilitating, propagating and popularizing indigenous Health Care Systems. It also proposes to spread awareness, familiarize preventive methods, and to make medicines and treatment available among rural population in order to lead India into being a State free of ailment.
      In the first phase of the scheme medical camps will be conducted throughout Kerala and free distribution of medicines will be made. The series of these camps are being organized in association with The Police Dept. of Kerala, Rotary Clubs, Lion Clubs, Excise Dept. Of Kerala, Press Clubs and various prominent NGOs. The project volunteers will visit 50,000 houses in each district of Kerala. The target is to distribute free medicines to more than two lakh of people across the state. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs. 35000 crores.
