1. Year of establishment : 2002. The I, II,III & IV Batches of students are
undergoing the course.
2. Location : Pothencode 21 kms. North East of
Thiruvananthapuram within the premises
of Santhigiri Ashram.
3. Title of Course : Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery
(BSMS).
4. Name of the affiliated University : University
of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram
5. Name of Medical Council : Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New
Delhi.
6. Duration of the Course : The Course shall be 4'/2 years duration and
one year Compulsory Rotatory Resident
Internship (CRRI)
First Professional - 18 Months
Second Professional - 18 Months
Final Professional
- 18 Months
C.R.R.I. - 12 Months
7 .Eligibility for Admission:
Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the Siddha
Course must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 Course)
or its equivalent of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of the
State or Examinations recognized equivalent there to with 50% marks
in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Biology put together.
8. Medium of Instruction: English.
9. Commencement of the Course :
1st July of an academic year or the date fixed by
the Central
Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) year to year.

The C.R.R.I. shall be completed in the teaching hospital/Siddha
hospitals wherever available in the state (Dispensaries and Primary
Health Centres) for the period of 12 months after passing the final
examination by rotation.
For CRRI Santhigiri Siddha Medical College is having a full fledged
Hospital. In addition to it the Siddha Clinical Research Unit of the
Central Council for Research in Ayurceda and Siddha (CCRAS), Govt. of
India, New Delhi is functioning in the premises.

12. Annual Fee structure and the fees for hostel etc. will be that
approved by Government/Authorised Commission/Court from time to time.
13. Dress code
Gents : Pants + Shirt + White overcoat
Ladies: Sari + Blouse + White overcoat
White dress is followed on all Thursdays.
The candidates seeking admission to this college should be willing
to abide by the general systems, procedures, rules and regulations
of SANTHIGIRI ASHRAM. Santhigiri Siddha Medical College aims at
bringing up a group of doctors of profound scholarship having deep
basis of Siddha system with scientific knowledge in accordance with
Siddha fundamentals with extensive practical training and above all
possessing the great principles of Arogya Dharma Siddhantham
envisioned by Guru. It is hoped that through these Doctors the
Siddha system will be popularised in the entire world.
