SANTHIGIRI INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HEALTH, PEACE & SPIRITUALITY

To a world plagued by the forces of destructive violence, debilitating disease and social discord, Santhigiri Ashram shows the beacon of light towards lasting peace and solace. Inspired by the teachings of the Guru, the Ashram organized a three-day international conference on the theme “Health, Peace and Spirituality” at Mammen Mapillai Hall, Kottayam on 3rd,4th and 5th January 2005. The land - mark conference, underlining the vital connection between health, peace and spirituality, was organized as a precursor to the historic dedication of the Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru Research Centre or Ayurveda and Siddha by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Anbumani Ramdoss, Hon'ble Union Minister for Health.

The conference, attended by a galaxy of foreign and national political leaders, peace activists, including Nobel Laureates, social reformers, religious luminaries, leading medical practitioners and senior bureaucrats, has set the ground for a new initiative to promote peace and harmony, in order to send a new message to humanity of the 21st Century.
