Cultural Activities
Santhigiri Mathrumandalam is a women's organization under the auspices of the Ashram and is concerned with the empowerment of women. There are several undertakings managed by the Mathrumandalam. From the time of the inception of the Ashram GURU gave great importance for the development and capacity building of women in the Ashram activities. In all programmes of the Ashram, women have been given a very important role. SANTHIGIRI MATHRUMANDALAM was founded as the women's wing in the Ashram to co-ordinate the Programmes and activities of the women consisting of Sanyasinis, Brahmacharinis, House Wives, Widows, Spinsters, Students and Children. The bye laws of Mathrumandalam have been incorporated as the first schedule 'A' of the Ashram Bye laws with specific provisions for self governance of women. Units of Mathrumandalam are working in different parts of the state and is engaged in several income generating ventures for women. Other than the income generating ventures, Mathrumandalam organises awareness programmes for women to enable them to recognise their role in family and society. According to GURU the material and spiritual well-being of women is the foundation for a good country and a good world. CELEBRATIONS IN THE ASHRAM

Janmadina
Poojitha Samarpanam- Navapoojitham Guru’s birthday falls on the Choti star in the month of Chingam of Malayalam Calendar (August-September). According to the Will of Brahmam the birthday celebrations of Guru is titled as Janmadina Poojitha Samarpanam “Navapoojitham”. After merging in Adisamkalpa, leaving the body Guru as ‘Nava Oli’, continues to shower on us His immense grace and mercy. His love is the heritage of humanity. Devotees from all over the world gather and prayerfully celebrate Navapoojitham.
2. Navaoli Jyothirdinam It is the day on which “The New light of a New Age” dawned, the great day Guru left His physical form and merged in Adisankalpa. The day promises many graces to all those who participate in prayer and devotion. It is a day when organizations and nations alike can make and take resolutions concerning the future of their countries. Navaoli Jyothirdinam is celebrated by observing fast, penance and prayers. 3. Sanyasa Deeksha Varshikam This is the anniversary of the bestowal of Sanyasam by Guru on disciples for the first time. It falls on the Vijayadasami day in October every year. Devotees gather to pray for the well being of the Sanyasis. This enhances the mutuality and spiritual bonding between renouncer and house holder, as prescribed by Guru.
3. Avasthapoortheekarana Varshikam Poojitha Peedom represents the foundation of Guru -Disciple relationship. The spiritual form of Guru, the most adorable form of Brahmam was revealed on the Poojitha Peedom to the disciples. Poojitha Peedom Samarpanam is being celebrated on Feb 22nd every year. It is the anniversary of the spiritual ascendancy of SishyapoojithaJanani Amrutha Jnana Tapaswini as Gurusthaneeya.
3. Pournami Pournami (full moon), observed as a day of fasting and prayers in the Ashram, is considered as very auspicious for spiritual and material well-being. The virtues for all penances come together on this day, helping us attain the very best. On Pournami there is light throughout the night. It is an auspicious time to pray even for a change in our karmagathi of many births.
