SANTHIGIRI SIDDHA MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL

Santhigiri Siddha Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram established in the year 2002-03 by Santhigiri Ashram is the fulfillment of a great vision of its founder Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru. Santhigiri Siddha Medical college is the first ever Siddha Medical College in Kerala and the only English medium Siddha Medical College in the country. At present there are only five Siddha Medical Colleges in India - all in Tamil Nadu. Only students who have studied Tamil as an elective subject can join this course in these colleges. The medium of instruction is also Tamil. Therefore this system could not receive proper exposure outside Tamil Nadu. In this scenario, Santhigiri has universalized Siddha education by adopting the medium of instruction as English. Tamil has been made as a subject of study just like Sanskrit in Ayurveda medical course. The Siddha doctors coming out of Santhigiri Siddha Medical College will get global exposure.

The college conducts 5 1/2 year bachelor of Siddha medicine and surgery (BSMS) degree course of the University of Kerala. The intake capacity of this college is 50 students a batch. Separate hostel facilities are available for girls and boys. The attached 100 bed Siddha hospital provides ample opportunity for clinical experience of the students.

SANTHIGIRI AYURVEDA MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL

Santhigiri Ayurveda medical college, Olassery, Palakkad is established with the aim to revive the holistic process of diagnosis and medicament practised traditionally. A 100 bedded hospital attached to the college provides all ayurveda and panchakarma treatments. Students are also getting opportunities to benefit from the research divisions of the Ashram. Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are available in the campus. It is situated adjacent to the Santhigiri branch ashram and on the banks of Bharathappuzha’s tributary ‘Sokanasini’ river in the midst of paddy fields and palm trees.

SANTHIGIRI INSTITUTE OF PARAMEDICAL SCIENCE

Santhigiri Institute of Paramedical Science, Thiruvananthapuram conducts Panchakarma and Paramedical Courses approved by Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS), Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

The Medical Services Division of Santhigiri Ashram seeks to take Guru's Nava Arogya Dharma Sidhantham to the world which takes into consideration the cause-effect relationship of diseases, and also the spiritual and genetical reasons in the cure of diseases.

The concept of integrated treatment was first advised and put into practice by Navajyotisree Karunakara Guru. In Santhigiri all systems of medicine - Ayurveda, Siddha, Alopathy, Homeopathy etc. get equal importance and role in the cure of patients.
