Santhigiri Ashram is a Charitable Organisation registered as per the Travencore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955. Accordingly, the charitable aspect is of utmost importance in all the Ashram activities.
Free food is offered to all those who come to the Ashram at Pothencode and the branch ashrams at all meal times. The major portion of the Ashram’s expenditure is on this continuous ‘Annadana–Yagna’ with all its Divinity. Through Athurasevanam, free medical care is provided to the needy through health camps organized under the ‘Karunyam’ programme.
The Ashram is also carrying out a number of charitable activities in the field of Education such as Uttrasree & the K R Narayanan Endowment. Scholarships are granted to students for sponsoring the higher studies of poor but meritorious students. Supply of clothes, gift of land and houses, care for old and disabled people, conducting marriages of poor people and providing employment etc. are some of the other charitable activities of the Ashram. All these are carried out by the abundant grace of Guru utilizing the voluntary contributions of devotees and earnings from the different units of the Ashram. Several Community Development Programmes are also being implemented by the Ashram.
